  • The Summer 2009 edition of the CDPHE Emergency Medical and Trauma Services Section Newsletter, "On The Scene" is available now.

Note:  Items submitted to the committee cannot be patient specific cases due to protection issues.  Items that identify opportunities for improvement related to Structure (resources), Process (policies/ guidelines), and Outcomes (trends & data) that do not include patient specific names or cases will be accepted as deemed appropriate for committee to process.

  • Montrose Memorial Hospital and Tri-State Care Flight are pleased to announce the opening of a new air medical helicopter service based at Montrose Memorial, Tri-State CF-11.  The service is operating an Augusta Koala A-119 staffed with one critical care RN and one paramedic.  It will be available for scene as well as inter-facility transports. The aircraft offers excellent performance at high altitudes while allowing good patient access.

  • The new revision of RULE 500, recently released by the Colorado Board of Medical Examiners, went into effect on 30 April 2009:

The Southwest Regional Emergency and Trauma Advisory Council (SWRETAC) is a non-profit organization designed to help implement, on a regional level, the overall goals of both a statewide and local perspective.  It's mission, is to retain, improve, and expand quality regional emergency medical and trauma services in Southwest Colorado.  In addition, it is the intention of the council to precipitate a process by which any interested person can have a forum to constructively share their ideas, knowledge, and information to improve emergency medical services in Southwest Colorado.  The Council is committed to excellence in health care.
